Diagnosis of EnDometriosis

Diagnosis of EnDometriosis

Physical examination

Diagnosing endometriosis can be challenging, as there is no definitive test for the condition. Your doctor may begin by performing a physical exam and asking about your symptoms and medical history. They may also recommend imaging tests, such as an ultrasound or MRI, to look for signs of endometriosis. We do understand that it is challenging to get an accurate report for endometriosis especially if the radiologist is not trained in identifying these lesions which requires specialised training.

We have an inhouse radiologist Dr. Srilatha Battina M.D. , who can identify these lesions and give an accurate picture of the disease , this helps us plan out our surgery and improves efficiency as we are well prepared way in advance.

Laparoscopy

Laparoscopy is the gold standard for diagnosis for endometriosis . It can also serve as a therapeutic tool as well . With advancements like 3D laparoscopy , it is much better than before for the patient as well as the surgeon because it greatly enhances the accuracy of the surgeon and reduces surgeon fatigue which translates to less time for the patient under anaesthesia.

Overall, endometriosis is a complex condition that requires specialized care and treatment. If you suspect you may have endometriosis, it’s important to talk to your doctor about your symptoms and treatment options, including surgery with a skilled surgeon.
